A neuroma is an enlarged growth of nerves that is caused by the rubbing of tissue against the nerves. Neuromas can occur anywhere on the foot and are named in relation to their location. The most common neuroma in the foot is Morton's Neuroma, which occurs between the third and fourth toes. Symptoms people with this condition experience include burning, numbness, tingling and pain in the ball of the foot.
